This page explains how to take away Dovey's access to your Meta ad account, and how to have Dovey delete everything it keeps about you and your workspace. Dovey is run by Brooklyn Social House LLC ("Dovey", "we", "us"). Our Privacy Policy at makedovey.com/privacy says in full what we collect and why.
1. What this covers
The data Dovey keeps about you and your workspace:
- Your account: your email address, and your name and role if you gave them
- Your brand guide and your products, with their photos
- The files you upload, such as logos, product photos and style references
- The ads Dovey made for you, and your canvases and workflows, with the comments on them
- Your bookmarks, collections, saved creators and lists
- Your searches, and your chats with Dovey on the web, on the canvas and in Slack
- Connected accounts, such as Meta and Slack, and their access tokens. We encrypt these tokens before we store them.
- For ads Dovey published to Meta for you, the Meta ids, status and results kept with each ad
2. Disconnect your Meta ad account
You can take away Dovey's access to your Meta ad account at any time.
- In Meta: open Meta Business Settings, then Integrations, then Business integrations, and remove Dovey Ads Manager. If you connected from your own profile, open Facebook Settings, then Business integrations, and remove Dovey Ads Manager there.
- In Dovey: open Settings, find Meta ad account, and choose Disconnect.
Removing Dovey in Meta ends its access at once, and Meta tells Dovey through its deauthorize callback, which deletes the token Dovey stored for you right away. Disconnecting in Dovey deletes the stored token too, and asks Meta to remove Dovey's permissions where Meta allows it. Either way Dovey also deletes the connection details it kept: the business, ad accounts, Pages, Instagram accounts and pixels it found. It can no longer read the account or create anything in it.
Ads Dovey already published stay in your ad account and keep running until you pause or delete them in Meta Ads Manager. The ids and results Dovey kept with those ads stay in your workspace until you ask for deletion, as below.
3. Ask for deletion through Meta
You can also ask for your data to be deleted from Facebook: in Settings and privacy, open Apps and websites, find Dovey Ads Manager, and ask for your data to be removed. A request made there reaches us through Meta's data deletion callback.
Dovey then deletes the Meta data it stored for you: the access token, the business, ad accounts, Pages, Instagram accounts and pixels it found, and the Meta ids and results kept with your ads. Meta shows you a confirmation code and a link back to this page. Keep the code if you want to ask us about the request.
4. Delete everything
Deletion of your account or workspace is by email. Email daryl@makedovey.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my data". Put your workspace name in the email so we delete the right one. Delete workspace in your settings closes a workspace but does not erase what it made; the email is what erases it.
We check that the request comes from the account, then delete your account, your workspace and everything in it within 30 days. That includes everything listed above, and the Meta and Slack tokens.
What stays:
- Records the law requires us to keep, such as billing records. Stripe, which takes our payments, holds those.
- Your email address in our Free plan record, for 24 months, so the same person cannot claim the Free plan twice.
- Records of how ads were made, with nothing left that ties them to you.
- Copies in our encrypted backups, for a short time until those backups roll over.
Ads you already published to your own Meta ad account stay there. They are yours, and Dovey does not delete them. To remove them, delete them in Meta Ads Manager.
