Terms of Use
Last updated September 24, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Brooklyn Social House LLC ("Dovey", "we", "us") for makedovey.com, for the Dovey connector inside AI assistants, for texting Dovey, and for everything they offer: the search over Meta ads, the research agent, the creator search, the remix, and the designs made from a text. They matter most in the rare case something goes wrong, so we have tried to write them in plain language rather than hide the important parts. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Who may use Dovey
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. If you use Dovey for a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind that company, and "you" means both you and that company.
Your email address is your account for the ads product: you sign in with a link we email you or with Google. For the poster product your phone number is your account. In either case you confirm the address or number is yours. If you give up a phone number, tell us, because whoever gets it next could otherwise reach your workspace by texting us.
While the ads product is opening to a few businesses at a time, the waitlist is the door. Joining it means giving us an email address, a website, and optionally a note, so we can write when it is your turn. It does not create an account or charge you anything.
Dovey is a business tool. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including anything done by people you invite and by AI agents you connect. Keep your credentials and API keys secret, and tell us promptly if you think they have been exposed.
2. The service, credits, and plans
Dovey is two things. The ads product is research over what already runs: a search over Meta ads by what they mean, ranked by how long they have run; an agent that answers questions over those ads with the sample size; a search for TikTok and Instagram creators who already post about a category, with numbers computed from their public posts; and a remix that makes a version of an ad for your own business in the studio. The poster product makes designs from what you describe, by text message or in the web studio: posters, flyers, menus, and social posts, in your brand.
One credit is one design or one edit. An ad creative made in the web studio costs one credit. A search or a question over the ads data costs one credit on the Starter plan; on the Pro plan search and questions are not metered. A creator search costs five credits on Starter. Editing a design by hand in the studio, downloading it, duplicating it, and reading the public pages are free.
Without a plan you can run ten searches or questions a calendar month, and make ten designs or edits, which carry a small Dovey watermark. The allowance resets on the first of each month and does not accumulate. Paid plans remove the watermark and replace the allowance with a monthly credit allowance: 100 on Starter, 500 on Pro.
Plans and prices are shown at makedovey.com/pricing. Credits are granted per billing period and do not roll over into the next one. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or redeemed, and expire when your subscription ends.
We may change features, models, limits, and prices. If we change prices for an existing subscription, we will give you notice before the change takes effect so you can cancel first.
3. Billing, cancellation, and refunds
Starting is free and asks for no card. Paid plans begin with a three day free trial: you enter a card at checkout, nothing is charged for three days, and you can cancel during the trial at no cost. After the trial the price shown at checkout is charged and then renews monthly until you cancel. This is a recurring charge.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. You authorise us and Stripe to charge your payment method for each renewal.
You can cancel at any time. Sign in to makedovey.com, open your profile, and choose to manage your plan, which opens Stripe's billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals. Access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancelling a paid plan returns you to the free plan rather than closing your account.
Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and we do not refund partial periods or unused credits. If credits were consumed by a failure clearly on our side, contact us and we will normally restore them.
If a payment fails, we may suspend access until it is resolved.
4. Texting Dovey
Dovey works over iMessage and SMS through a phone number we assign you. Messages you send are requests to the service, and we treat their contents as data to act on, never as instructions that could change how the service behaves for anyone else.
Reply STOP at any time and we stop messaging that number. Reply HELP for help, and START to resume. Message frequency depends on how much you use the service, and your carrier may charge for messages. The full messaging terms are at makedovey.com/sms-terms.
Delivery depends on Apple, your carrier, and our messaging provider, so we cannot promise any individual message arrives or arrives quickly. Do not send us anything time critical on the assumption that it will.
Do not text us sensitive information. That includes card numbers, government identifiers, health information, and anyone else's personal details. Text messages are not a secure channel and we do not need any of it.
5. The ads data
The ads you search, browse and ask about come from the Meta Ad Library, which Meta publishes so anyone can see the ads running on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads. We collect it through a data provider, keep our own copy of the ads and their creatives, and add what our models read from each one: the angle, the hook, the offer, the format, who appears, a transcript of the video, and a score built from how long the ad has run and how many versions it has. Every ad links back to its page in the Ad Library.
The ads belong to their advertisers. Dovey gives you the right to look at them, search them, compare them, save them to your bookmarks and use what you learn. It does not give you the right to republish an advertiser's creative, to copy its text or its picture into your own ad, or to present it as yours. The remix exists so that you do not have to: it carries the angle, the offer shape and the format into a design that uses your words and your picture.
The data is as complete and as current as the Ad Library and our provider make it. Some advertisers' ads are hidden behind a login on Meta's side and appear in Dovey without a creative; some ads end before we see them; run time is Meta's start date against today. Meta publishes no spend, reach or performance figures for ordinary ads, so Dovey does not show any, and anything the agent says about what works is a reading of run time and versions, not a measurement of results. Check the source before you rely on a number.
You may not copy the index in bulk, scrape or crawl it, resell it, or use it to build a competing database. Reasonable use through the web app, the connector and the API is what the plans are for.
6. The creator data
The creator search finds people on TikTok and Instagram who already post about a category. Everything it shows comes from their public profiles and public posts, collected through a data provider: the handle, the bio, the follower count, the last posts with their views, likes and comments, and a business email or link only where the creator put it on their own profile. From those posts we compute the numbers on each card, such as median views, engagement rate and how many recent posts were paid, and our models read what the creator posts about.
We show a creator's public contact details only to signed in accounts on a paid plan, and we never message anyone on your behalf. If you contact a creator, you do it from your own account, under the platform's rules and the law where you and they are, including rules on unsolicited commercial messages. Do not use Dovey to harass, spam or scrape creators, and do not resell or export the creator data.
Creators own their content. Dovey shows their public posts as the platform shows them, with a link to the original, so that a buyer can judge the work. A creator who does not want to appear in Dovey can write to us and we will remove them.
7. Your content, and the rights you give us
"Your Content" means everything you put into Dovey: the messages you text us, the searches and questions you ask, your instructions, product photos, logos, brand details, your website address, your bookmarks and lists, and references you upload. You keep ownership of Your Content.
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, display, and process Your Content, and to make derivative works of it, strictly to operate and improve the service for you. That licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for backups and logs that age out on the schedule in our Privacy Policy.
You promise that you have the right to use Your Content for the purpose you are using it, and that our processing of it will not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights. Uploading someone else's advertisement as a style reference is expressly permitted, and the section below on using other companies' ads sets out where the line is. What is not permitted is passing off someone else's product photography, logo, or artwork as your own in a finished ad, and under the indemnity below that liability is yours.
8. Usage signals and model evaluation
As you use Dovey, we record how generations go: which model produced which output, which of several candidates you picked, what you regenerated, edited, kept, starred, or exported, along with each step's speed and cost. We use these signals to make Dovey better, for example by learning which model does the best job for a given kind of task.
This includes what you ask for over text and the changes you ask for afterwards. A request to make something greener or move a date is the clearest signal we get about whether a design was right, and we use it to improve how designs are made. We do not use your messages to advertise to you.
We may also use these signals in anonymized, aggregated form for model evaluation, including in reports or datasets we share or sell. Anonymized and aggregated means statistics and patterns, never your raw inputs, your product photos, your brand details, or anything that identifies you or your business. An individual output is only ever included as an example with your explicit opt-in.
If you publish a flow or other content publicly on Dovey, its public page, title, description, and aggregate statistics are visible to everyone by design. You can opt any of your flows out of aggregate evaluation from its settings, and that choice takes effect going forward.
9. Using other companies' ads as style references
You may upload advertisements you did not create and use them as style references. This is a normal and intended use of Dovey. Studying what already works in your market is the point of the product, and the qualities a reference actually teaches the system are style, composition, lighting, colour, texture, and mood.
Those qualities are not owned by anyone. Copyright protects a specific image, not the idea of a can lit from above against a pink sky, and not a look or an aesthetic. Trademark protects a brand's marks, not the fact that its ads feel a certain way.
References you upload stay private to your workspace. They are never added to our public library and no other customer sees them.
The line is what comes out, not what goes in. Do not publish an ad that reproduces another company's actual photography or artwork, that carries their logo, name, or packaging, that copies their trade dress closely enough to confuse a shopper, or that suggests they endorse or are connected to you. Comparative advertising that names a competitor is legal in many places and heavily regulated in others, so if you are making that kind of ad, check the rules where it will run.
You are responsible for the ads you publish. We give you the tool and this guidance; the judgement about any particular ad is yours.
10. Generated images, and what we do not promise about them
As between you and us, you own the designs Dovey generates for you, and you may use them commercially. Posters, flyers, menus, and posts are yours to print, post, or run as advertising, on every plan including the free one. We claim no ownership of them.
One exception is worth stating plainly. When the system draws an illustration for a design, for example a coffee cup or a taco, it keeps that drawing so it can be reused and recoloured in later designs, including designs for other customers. Illustrations are generic artwork with no text and nothing identifying in them, and this does not apply to your photos, your logo, your words, or the finished design. If you would rather an illustration made for you was not reused, tell us and we will remove it.
Three honest limits come with that. First, AI generated material may not be protected by copyright in some countries, including the United States, so you may not be able to stop others from copying it. Second, generation is not deterministic and other customers may receive visually similar results, so we cannot promise your output is unique. Third, we cannot guarantee that output does not resemble existing work, so you should review anything before you publish it.
Dovey uses third party AI models to produce images and analysis. Your use of the output is also subject to those providers' terms, which is one reason we name them in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for making sure your ads comply with the law and with the rules of wherever you run them, including advertising standards, disclosure obligations, and platform policies. Some platforms require you to disclose that creative was made with AI. That disclosure is your decision and your responsibility.
11. No promise about results
Dovey helps you make designs. It does not promise that any design will bring people in, perform as an advertisement, convert, or be approved by an advertising platform. Anything we publish about what tends to work is observation, not a prediction about your results.
Decisions about what to run, where, and with how much budget are yours, and the money you spend on advertising is spent at your own risk.
12. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Dovey to:
- create anything unlawful, defamatory, hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit
- impersonate a real person or organisation, or make an advertisement look like it comes from a brand you do not represent
- make false or misleading claims about a product, or content designed to deceive people
- publish an ad that reproduces another company's photography, artwork, logo, or packaging, or that imitates their trade dress closely enough to confuse people about who is selling
- generate images of an identifiable person without their permission
- reverse engineer the service, resell access, or use it to train a competing model
- copy the ads index or the creator data in bulk, or resell either
- contact creators found through Dovey in ways the platform or the law does not allow, or use the data to harass anyone
- scrape, overload, probe, or interfere with the service or its security
We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach this section. Where the breach is serious or repeated, we may do so without notice.
13. API keys and connected AI agents
Dovey can be operated by AI assistants through our API and our MCP connector, in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex and any other client that speaks MCP. When you connect one, you authorise it to act on your behalf inside your workspace: searching ads, asking questions, finding and saving creators, bookmarking, and making designs and remixes, which spends credits you have already bought.
Connected agents cannot touch billing: no agent can start a checkout, change or cancel a plan, or create API keys. Actions an agent takes are still your actions under these terms, so connect only tools you trust. Every connection is listed in your profile and you can revoke any of them at any time, which takes effect immediately.
14. Our intellectual property
The service itself, including our software, models, prompts, interface, the tags and scores we add to the ads, the numbers we compute about creators, the curated style reference library, and the Dovey name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. These terms give you permission to use the service, and nothing more.
Style references in our library are provided so the system can learn visual qualities such as lighting, composition, and mood. They are not licensed to you as images to republish, and nothing in the service grants you rights in any third party brand that happens to appear in a reference. Learning a look from a reference is fine; republishing the reference itself is not.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely and without owing you anything.
15. Third party services
Dovey depends on services we do not control, including AI model providers, payment processing, hosting, and email delivery. If one of them fails, changes, or restricts what we can offer, that may affect the service, and we are not liable for their acts or omissions.
16. Service availability
We aim to keep Dovey running but we do not promise uninterrupted or error free service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your work.
17. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or trade usage.
Some countries do not allow these exclusions. Nothing here removes rights you have that cannot legally be removed, including consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, statutory rights under UK and EU consumer law, and equivalent protections elsewhere.
18. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost advertising spend, lost data, or loss of goodwill, even if warned such damages were possible.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred United States dollars.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation. Where you deal with us as a consumer, your non-excludable statutory rights are unaffected.
19. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from Your Content, your use of the service, your advertising, your breach of these terms, or your violation of anyone's rights or of any law.
20. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Dovey at any time and cancel from your profile. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if your payments fail, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe continuing would create legal risk or harm other users.
When an account ends, your right to use the service ends. We keep and delete data as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination do survive, including content licences already granted, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute resolution.
21. Disputes
Please contact us first at daryl@makedovey.com. Most problems are faster to fix directly than through any formal process, and we would rather fix them.
If you are in the United States and we cannot resolve a dispute informally within sixty days, you and we agree to resolve it by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in New York, New York. You and we each waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class or representative action. Either party may still bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property.
This arbitration agreement does not apply where it is unenforceable. If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, Australia, or Canada, you keep the right to bring proceedings in your local courts and to rely on the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
22. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and, where applicable, the federal law of the United States, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Subject to the arbitration section above, the courts of New York County, New York have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live.
23. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will give reasonable notice by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Dovey after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, cancel your subscription.
24. General
These terms, with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about the service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, on notice to you.
25. Contact
Brooklyn Social House LLC, Brooklyn, New York, United States. Questions about these terms go to daryl@makedovey.com.
If anything here is unclear, ask us. We would rather explain a term than argue about it later.
