The steps
- Open ChatGPT, then Settings, then Connectors. If you do not see a Create button, go to Settings, Apps and Connectors, Advanced, and turn on Developer mode.
- Click Create. Name it Dovey, paste the MCP server URL:

- Start a new chat. Click the plus (or the tools icon), choose Dovey under connectors, and ask.

If something is off
- No Create button: developer mode is off, or the workspace admin has not allowed custom connectors.
- The tool is listed but not used: ask for it by name once, "use Dovey to search...", and ChatGPT keeps using it in that chat.
- Numbers look invented: Dovey tells the model to state sample sizes and never to invent a CTR; if you see one, ask "where is that number from" and it will correct itself.
