Dovey answers in Slack the way it answers on makedovey.com: a question about Meta ads or creators, a short answer, and the ads or creators as pictures in the thread. Checked on September 24, 2026.
TLDR:
- Dovey in Slack is the same research agent as on makedovey.com: mention @Dovey in a channel or message it directly, and the answer comes back in the thread with the ads or creators.
- One click adds it: Connectors, Add to Slack, approve on Slack's screen. The person approving needs permission to install apps in that workspace.
- Each Slack thread is one Dovey conversation, so follow-up questions in the thread keep their context.
- Dovey never posts on its own in Slack; every message from it is a reply to someone. Questions use the workspace's Dovey credits as usual.
What it does
- Mention @Dovey in any channel it has been invited to, or open a direct message with it, and ask in plain words.
- The answer arrives in the thread within about a minute: the text, then up to five ads as pictures with the advertiser, the days running and a link to the Ad Library page, or up to five creators with their numbers.
- Reply in the same thread to follow up. The thread is one conversation, so "which of these has the most versions" works.
- Nothing is posted unless someone asked. Dovey does not read channels it is not mentioned in.
The steps
- Sign in to Dovey and open Connectors.
- Choose Add to Slack. Slack shows what Dovey will be able to do: read mentions and direct messages, and post replies.
- Approve. You are sent back to Dovey with the workspace named on the Slack card.
- In Slack, invite Dovey to a channel (
/invite @Dovey) or message it directly, and ask.
What to ask
- "@Dovey what performs best for meal kit brands right now?"
- "@Dovey open Hungryroot's ads, top performers first"
- "@Dovey find nano creators already posting about protein powder"
- In the thread: "which of these already appear in Meta ads?"
If something is off
- No reply: Dovey has to be in the channel. Invite it, or message it directly.
- "Out of credits": a question in Slack costs the same as one in the app. The plan page has the next step.
- Reconnect: Connectors, Disconnect, then Add to Slack again. Conversations already held stay in Dovey.
FAQ
Is this the daily ads agent?
Not yet. This is the research agent in Slack: it answers when asked. The daily post of new creatives is a separate feature that will use the same connection.
Does Dovey read our channels?
No. Slack sends Dovey only the messages that mention it and the direct messages sent to it.
Which Slack plans work?
Any. The app is installed from Dovey's own link, not the Slack marketplace, so it works on free workspaces too.
