How do I connect Dovey to Claude?

Dovey is an MCP server. Connected, the assistant gets the same tools Dovey has: search the Meta Ad Library by meaning, open any advertiser's account, ask questions over the ads (angles, hooks, formats, run times, with sample sizes), read one ad in full (copy, versions, video transcript), find TikTok and Instagram creators by topic with their numbers, bookmark ads and save creators to lists. The assistant calls the tools; Dovey does the reading. Every ad it cites links back to its Ad Library page.

The address is the same everywhere:

1. Open claude.ai and go to Settings, then Connectors. On the desktop app it is the same screen.
2. Choose "Add custom connector".
3. Name it Dovey and paste the address: https://api.makedovey.com/mcp
4. Click Add. Claude opens a Dovey sign-in; use the email you signed up with. A free account works for search; the agent and creator lists are on a plan.
5. Start a new chat. Under the tools menu (the plus or the sliders icon), turn Dovey on. It stays on for that chat.

Get Dovey

• "What is running for meal kit brands right now?" returns a grid of ads, top performers first.
• "Which angles perform best for fitness apps?" returns a chart with the sample size.
• "Sweetgreen ads" opens the account.
• "Find nano creators already posting about protein powder with a public email" runs the creator search.

• The connector does not appear in the chat: it is added at the account level but switched on per chat. Open the tools menu in the chat and turn it on.
• Claude says it cannot access the tool: the sign-in expired. Settings, Connectors, Dovey, Reconnect.
• The answer has no numbers: ask for them. "Show the sample size" or "how many ads is that from" makes Claude call the aggregate tool.
• On the free Claude plan custom connectors are not available. Use the ChatGPT connector or Dovey instead.
